Towing Solutions offer a Trailer Servicing & Maintenance 1 day course certificated by the IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) and the NTTA (National Trailer & Towing Association) the leading trade association for the UK towing industry.
Our 1 day advanced training course provides individuals within the towing industry an opportunity to broaden their existing knowledge in this comprehensive course complete with practical exercises.
Delegates who attend this 1 day advanced course must have a prior understanding of the trailer systems including basic knowledge on the coupling assembly and running gear (brakes).
Course Details
Trailer Servicing & Maintenance 1 Day
To be a trailer service engineer, you must be able to identify the specialist components that are used in maintaining trailers and mobile plant. People working with trailers must have the skill and technical knowledge to recognise worn components that need repair or replacement.
Businesses that service and maintain customer trailers. Vehicle service technicians, workshop fitters and team leaders who have responsibility within organisations for maintaining and servicing trailers, horse trailers, marine trailers, mobile plant and other towed equipment.
Summary
This single-day advanced training programme consists of practical ‘hands-on’ demonstrations with plenty of delegate participation in trailer maintenance procedures throughout the day. All delegates will be given a full set of Trailer Servicing and Maintenance course notes to assist in learning the theory on their training day, as well as to use as references in the future. Our illustrated course notes include informative technical data and applicable manufacturer’s specifications.
The practical workshop training covers the advanced aspects of trailer maintenance, including servicing, commissioning, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Attendance
Single-day course held at our facilities in Macclesfield, Cheshire. Lunch and refreshments are provided, with a maximum of six delegates per course.
Certification
Successful candidates will be certified by the IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) and the NTTA (National Trailer & Towing Association) as a Trailer Servicing & Maintenance Technician, a certification valid for 5 years.
On Completion
As well as their industry-recognised certificate, delegates will also receive an e-copy document containing details from the training course, as well as some bonus top tips to help you on your way.

I did the 1-day Trailer Servicing course with Dave back in March, and I thought it was a really good experience. The course was informative, and Dave clearly knows his stuff—he shared a lot of useful knowledge throughout the day.
Since then, I’ve actually gone on to create my own tool to help check dampers, inspired by what Dave showed us during the course. We were also given a folder full of notes and information, and I’ve found myself referring back to it quite a bit—it’s been super helpful.
One thing I think could’ve made the course even better would be having a bit of time to explore the trailer on our own—maybe try out fitting some of the parts ourselves to get a bit more hands-on practice. Other than that, I really enjoyed it and got a lot out of it.I recently did the 1-day Trailer Servicing course with Dave, and it was honestly great. He ran the course really well, there was a nice mix of classroom and hands-on work, which kept it interesting and easy to follow.
